With this acquisition, Diviac Travel gains access to all of Scubadviser’s rich content, boosting its already extensive database and establishing it as one of top sources of dive trip planning information in the world. The websites scubadviser.com and scubadviser.co.uk will be shut down, but all their content will be available in diviac.travel.

When asked about this acquisition, diviac co-founder and CEO Joel Perrenoud stated: “Scubadviser is an established name in the diving community and it’s owner, Jackie Hutchings, has done a great job at improving transparency in the market. I am extremely happy to be able to integrate Scubadviser’s tremendous content into Diviac Travel, giving it the cutting-edge showcase that it deserves. As a result we will make it easier than ever before for divers to research, compare and book their next dive vacation. I am also very pleased that Jackie has accepted to join Diviac in an advisory role.”

Commenting on the sale of her company, Scubadviser founder and CEO Jackie Hutchings stated: ”Seven years have passed since the first day Scubadviser was published. Since then, literally millions of divers have been browsing our pages to find relevant information about dive centers, dive resorts and liveaboards and thousands have given back with rich reviews that make it easier for others to choose where to go diving next. Today, I’m happy to have found a great acquirer and partner in Diviac, and I am confident that Joel and his team will continue the journey where we left off, taking our shared vision to the next level.”

Diviac

Diviac’s founders are on a mission to bring the best of the Web to the scuba diving industry. In 2013 they launched diviac.com, now one of the world’s most popular cloud-logbook with users from over 135 countries. In April 2015, they released their newest platform, diviac.travel, with the simple ambition of becoming the Booking.com of scuba diving.

Scubadviser

Launched in 2008, Scubadviser.com was one of the most visited review website for scuba divers in the world. It included listings for over 7,000 dive centers and 500 liveaboards, thousands of diver reviews, as well as and rich information on the most popular scuba destinations across the globe.
