The Smart Console - Monitoring Your Divers Has Never Been Easier

7th April 2014   |   Jackie Hutchings

This is a guest post from Anders Brodin, founder of the Smart Console

I am very excited to tell you about the Smart Console which is first product out of the Swedish company, [Aqwary](https://aqwary.com/). With the Smart Console, it is now easier than ever for divers to connect, and share information about their air supply, location and more, on a local subaquatic network.   The underwater network is powered by ultrasonic sound, and supports up to 70 divers within 100 meters range.

Just as a smartphone, the Smart Console comes with an app store that lets you choose from a variety of useful and fun dive applications.  For example, you can expand your Smart Console with a Dive Computer, 3D compass, Map Viewer and Buddy-watch.  When you are out of the water, the Smart Console connects over Wifi, allowing you to backup your dive data to the Aqwary Cloud.

Our first focus for this product is dive centers who would like to monitor the status of a complete group.  This could be very useful during training and guiding.

Later this year we will also release a boat unit. This will allow dive management on a boat to keep track of all divers and also send out recall messages to them.

We are currently in a hectic period of testing, product certification and production. We will be shipping the first batch of 300 units to dive centers around Europe in the early days of summer. It is possible to place a pre-order on our web site if you would like to get your hands on one of the first units.

In May, we will conduct a number of VIP dives where dive centers will get a chance to experience the subaquatic network first hand. Register here if you want a chance to be invited.
